Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can, use it only to reply to you and work on your project, and never sell it. Here's exactly what that means.
Webbros is a web design studio in Melbourne, Victoria. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Webbros, and "you" means anyone who visits webbros.studio or gets in touch with us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you contact us
If you fill in the Start a project form, we collect what you type into it:
- your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number
- your business name and current website
- what you need, when you'd like to start and how you'd like us to reply
- how you heard about us, and anything you tell us about your project
The form doesn't send anything by itself. When you press Send, it opens your own email app with your message filled in, and we receive it as an email to info@webbros.studio. The same applies to any email you send us directly.
When you browse the site
- Visitor statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (country, referring site) and what kind of device and browser they use. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you personally. We only see totals.
- Hosting. Our site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, its servers process your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Fonts. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
Stored only on your device
If you drag the folder icons around, your browser remembers where you left them. If you pick a song with the music player, it plays in your browser only. Neither is ever sent to us.
Cookies
We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising, which is why there's no cookie banner. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
How we use your information
- to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote
- to plan, build and support your website if you become a client
- to keep the business records we need for tax and legal reasons
- to understand, in total, how people use our site so we can improve it
We don't sell your information, and we won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We only share information with the services that help us run Webbros, and only as much as they need:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides our visitor statistics.
- Google serves the fonts.
- Porkbun manages our domain and forwards email sent to info@webbros.studio to our inbox.
- Our email provider stores the emails you send us.
- Sanity stores our blog articles. It holds no information about visitors.
These providers are based in, or store data in, other countries, including the United States. We choose established providers with their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Keeping it safe and how long we keep it
The whole site runs over HTTPS, and only the Webbros team can read your enquiries. We keep your information for as long as we need it to reply to you, work on your project and meet our record-keeping obligations. After that, we delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@webbros.studio and we'll reply within 30 days. You don't have to give us your name to browse the site, and you only need to give contact details if you'd like a reply.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about how we've handled your information, email info@webbros.studio and we'll work it out with you. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
